Structured Socialization
Your dog plays in carefully managed groups based on size, play style, and temperament. Our team actively guides interactions to encourage positive social skills and prevent overstimulation.
Trained, Active Supervision
Our trained staff are present in every play yard, continuously observing body language, managing energy levels, and stepping in when dogs need support or redirection.
Peace of Mind for Pet Parents
You can feel confident knowing your dog is safe, engaged, and cared for in a structured environment designed to support both physical activity and emotional wellbeing.
Play, Rest, Repeat
At Allie’s Walkabout, daycare dogs enjoy a balanced day of off-leash play, rest, and engagement. About 70% of their time is active play!
During playgroup, dogs rotate through play, rest, and structured engagement, which keeps energy levels healthy and prevents over-arousal. Handlers reinforce calm basics like gate manners, place, sit, and down to ensure transitions are safe and orderly.
Drop-off to pick-up, your pup will romp and play, with a scheduled nap daily from 12 pm–2 pm to recharge. Our goal is “good” tired, not stressed or worn-out tired. Rest periods also allow staff to clean thoroughly with veterinary-grade supplies, keeping all pups healthy and safe.

Ability to Rest and Reset

A Typical Day in Daycare
Our daycare days follow a consistent rhythm designed to balance play, rest, and enrichment. Structure helps dogs feel comfortable, confident, and calm throughout the day.
Arrival and Calm Check in
We open at 6:30am Monday through Friday and at 8am on Saturdays. Dogs are welcome to arrive anytime in the morning. For dogs who arrive early, we intentionally build in rest breaks so they are not spending long stretches in group play or becoming overstimulated.
If a daycare dog arrives before breakfast time and has not eaten at home, we are happy to feed breakfast to help make mornings easier for you.
Structured Group Play
Dogs are placed into playgroups based on size, age, play style, and temperament. Our trained team actively supervises all play and adjusts groups throughout the day as needed to support positive interactions and safe socialization.
Optional enrichment add ons are available and may include nature walks, scent work, park time, or other activities designed to engage dogs mentally and physically.
Midday Nap and Facility Reset
From 12 to 2pm, all dogs enjoy a midday nap while our team thoroughly cleans and resets the facility. This downtime allows dogs to recharge and helps maintain a clean, calm environment for the afternoon.
Afternoon Play and Engagement
After 2pm, daycare and boarding dogs return to their playgroups for afternoon activity. Most daycare dogs remain out with their groups until pickup, though additional rest breaks are always provided if a dog needs extra downtime toward the end of the day.
Calm Transitions and Pickup
We are intentional about calm transitions throughout the day, especially during drop off and pickup. Our team reinforces gate control and smooth handoffs so dogs feel safe and comfortable entering and leaving the play yards. Pickup is available from 2pm until closing at 7pm.
Is Daycare Right For My Dog?
Doggy daycare can be a wonderful experience for many dogs, but it is not the right fit for every personality. Dogs thrive in daycare when they are comfortable around other dogs, able to take breaks, and supported in a structured group environment.
During the Meet and Greet, our trained team evaluates each dog using principles from the PackPro Dog Sociability Scale, a framework that helps us understand how dogs interact, communicate, and respond in group settings. This allows us to look beyond simple friendliness and assess play style, tolerance, confidence, and comfort levels.
Some dogs are highly social and enjoy constant group play. Others prefer smaller groups, slower introductions, or more support from handlers. All of these profiles are normal. Our goal is to place each dog in an environment where they can be successful, safe, and comfortable.
If daycare is not the right fit for your dog, we will talk through what we observed and discuss next steps. We believe honest guidance and thoughtful placement lead to the best outcomes for dogs and their people.

How to Get Started in Daycare
Before jumping into daycare, every new pup joins us for a four-hour Meet & Greet. It’s our way of getting to know your dog, easing them into group play, and setting them up for a fun, successful daycare experience.
Schedule Meet & Greet
During this call, we’ll learn about your pup, discuss their needs, and schedule their daycare Meet & Greet.
Provide Vaccine Records
All dogs must be up to date on Bordetella, Distemper, Rabies, and a clean fecal test within the last year. Records should be ready before your pup’s first visit.
Attend the Meet & Greet
During the Meet & Greet, our trained handlers will guide your dog through a short evaluation, gradually introducing them to group play while monitoring comfort, behavior, and social interactions. This ensures your pup is happy, safe, and ready for daycare.
Book Daycare Visits
After your pup successfully completes the Meet & Greet, you can schedule daycare visits up to a year in advance! If you’re interested in a regular routine for your pup, ask about our Daycare Memberships.
Relax and Enjoy
Rest easy knowing your pup is having fun with people who know their personality and play style, all in a safe, supervised setting.
